For this project we were required to choose an existing food product targeted for college students that is distributed in food markets on campuses.
For this assignment I chose Charlie’s, a local that sells prepackaged wraps and sandwiches in Miller Market on Western Washington's campus. The product I chose to repackage was the turkey wrap. The original package was entirely plastic and the brand struggled to attract attention.
My idea behind this pop-open box was to create a portable package that the wrap could be eaten out of while walking or running to class. My intention was to make a package that would reduce waste by removing the need for a plate and providing the option to store leftovers.
The wrap’s box is made from recycled cardboard with a cellophane window on the back.
