Who are you?
My name is Ethan Harris and I'm an independent songwriter and composer. I was born and raised in the greater Seattle metropolitan area. Both of my parents are musicians, so naturally I was raised in a musical household with my two siblings Katie and Logan. I'm currently attending Western Washington University to major in Computer Science.
How long have you been playing?
I've been playing instruments as long as I can remember, starting with the piano. While I did take piano lessons as a child, most of my skills lie in percussion. Throughout middle and high school, I played in the percussion section of any ensemble I could get into and I received private instruction for the entire time. I would say my best specific instrument is the Timpani, however I can play all percussion instruments proficiently.
How long have you been writing music?
I've been writing music at any level for about 10 years now. I started in middle school with free apps on my iPad mini, but have since progressed to more capable DAWs. I am familiar with multiple industry-standard DAWs such as Logic and Reaper, however for my own personal use I like to stick with the most familiar: FL Studio.
Tell us about your music?
I don't like to confine myself to one genre. Oftentimes, my music will try to encompass many different styles in one piece. However, to broadly categorize my music, I generally stick to electronic music and orchestral music (often blending the two). I was raised on a wide variety of musical genres, from jazz to classical to EDM, so you can definitely see the reflections of different genres presented in my music.
