Never Hot FC was founded when a few former club soccer players, who in their yearning for the days of playing soccer in their youths, gathered to compete in the WWU intramural league. They had humble beginnings, with their first year being comprised of mostly freshmen players, younger than many of the opposing teams at the time. Their first season was an eventful one, with many players first settling into their roles on the team and into the playstyle that is necessary to succeed in such a league. The twenty minute half structure proved to be a struggle for some as they were used to a longer ninety-minute game. However, as they learned through trial and error, the team became more confident and efficient in their time, realizing that the shorter halves meant that one must put forth an effort incessantly, "leaving it all out on the field" as they say. Their first season, the team made it to the playoffs, but had no results.
The next season, however, took the WWU intramural soccer league by storm. With many Never Hot FC players now settling into their roles on the team and only then understanding the necessity of a fast-paced game on the pitch, the team looked fiercer than ever before. The second season led them into the finals, and it was in that game that a pivotal moment occurred. Never Hot FC had gone down by one goal by the end of the first half. Momentum was against them. It seemed almost hopeless when suddenly there was a breakthrough in the midfield. The goalkeeper for Never Hot FC had given a perfect drop kick over the opposing team's left defender. Never Hot FC realized they needed to capitalize. They rushed at the chance to counter and quickly netted a goal, changing the momentum of the game in their favor. With this shift in momentum came an increased confidence in the team, and their possession of the ball improved, and Never Hot FC dominated the game until the final minute when they scored again, reaching a score line of 2-1, winning the Winter quarter league. Since then, the team has had multiple finishes in the top four teams in the league and continues to improve its team structure. the question on everyone's mind is: will they win another title? They will be answering that burning question next season, so stay tuned!
