The photo on the left was taken while I was attending the Ocean Research College Academy at Everett Community College. While I was there, I got the opportunity to work on four undergraduate research projects studying the oceanography and geology of the Salish Sea and Possession Sound. I was granted the opportunity to present two of the projects that I worked on at the University of Washington Undergraduate Research Symposium in May. I was a co-writer for the first of the two projects, the other writer being Joe Ralph, and the project was on the distribution of heavy metals throughout Possession Sound. The second project I worked on was about the concentration of microplastics in the waters of Possession Sound.
