The Sanwa OSBF is the go to button for any basic fight-stick build, It's responsive and feels nice and sounds great. It's the cheapest push-button while still being good unlike some other cheaper push-buttons.

This push-button right here will be your best friend. Although slightly more expensive than most buttons, the Crown 202 feels amazing, what makes the difference is the actuator in the inside is a mechanical keyboard cherry switch that gives it such a better feel, the push is smooth and very responsive and not that sensitive. So it is a great button all in all, another pro about the 202 is that is much quieter than it's competitors' main push-buttons.

Seimitsu's buttons are very responsive haptic feeling. The button's them self are probably the loudest ones on the market, but if the sound doesn't bother you, they honestly feel just as good as a Crown 202, with a slightly more pressy feel to them. Seimitsu has an interesting push-button, but combined with the fact that you can put a spring to make the button feel more pushy makes it a nice button to customize to your perfect liking!

These buttons are the same exact feel as the normal Sanwa OSBF, but if you play in a dorm room or anywhere with thin walls or open space and you're worried about the stick being too loud, go with these. These buttons are the quietest buttons on the market, with GamerFinger and Crown 202's trailing right behind it. The thing that makes these buttons so quiet compared to Crowns and GamerFinger is that the switch has a foam padding that absorbs sound and quietens the button press.

The GamerFinger buttons are probably the best buttons on the market if you want to truly customize your stick, although the most expensive per button compared to every button listed. The gamer finger buttons are sold separately so that each part is your own choosing, you pick the switch, the button, the button-cap and the button housing. The difference in mechanical switches is harder to explain, but Cherry MX, the creator of said switches has a great explanation on their website!. If you desire to have a fully customized array of buttons, this is the go to button.

Just like the Seimitsu PS-14, it features pretty much the same parts and pieces, the only difference and the large appeal to it is the fact that the buttons have a smaller housing unit, the call the PS-15 their low profile buttons, these can be used where the space in your fight-stick is somewhat limited allowing you to have more room where buttons are, this can be beneficial if you're trying to build a smaller stick

The classic Sanwa JLF is found in every arcade stick that you purchase from most retailers unless you know you're purchasing a Korean stick. This is the best feeling JLF you'll find on the market as most other competition can't even come close to how these feel. If the joystick feels too light you can buy a new tension spring and insert it, personally I'm a fan of the 2lb spring vs the base 1lb spring, it feels stiffer but not too stiff where it becomes a hand workout to move the joystick.

The classic JLF gotten even better? This is great for anyone who travels around with their stick in a backpack, this allows you to remove the joystick and store it somewhere else for safekeeping while traveling, because if you have a normal JLF it will rub up against the backpack and can actually either damage the stick, or damage other things inside the backpack as the JLF has a clearance of about an extra 2.5 to 3 inches sticking out of the stick. Get this JLF if you want to travel without damaging your stick and other goods!

Truly, Korean sticks have a different way of pressing the buttons, the traditional JLF uses a rubber dome to hit buttons to actuate the micro-switch, while the Korean stick has a rubber ring that fully encases the stick and moving it in a direction causes it to actuate the micro-switches due to pressure differences. This allows Korean sticks to return to the middle of the stick naturally faster than the JLF competition. Korean sticks feel amazing if you can get used to using a bat-top, you can also purchase a ball-top replacement for some Korean sticks like the 309 Helpme.

The basic restrictor gate feels great in practice and in play is amazing and consistent. The point of the restrictor gate is so that when you want to do any of the corner motions, it's miles easier to stop in said directions. Hitting corners on the square gate is the easiest and especially for fighting games you need to two bottom corners for blocking.

The octagonal gate is a fair competitor to the square gate, while providing a similar feel to the square gate it also has notches in the cardinal directions allowing some a better feel in play. Personally this might be good for a beginner to mess with although you should probably transition to a square gate because an octagonal gate doesn't "lock" into the corners as well as a square gate.

Messing with circular gates are fun because theres no "lock" or catching feeling when going around the stick, on paper it seems like the best because its the most fluid of motion, but in play you realise that this gate honestly sucks. You can't hold a constant position, and hitting certain corners or cardinal directions makes it hard to input combos. Your best reasoning to buying this is to just have fun for a day or two tbh.
