Bellingham is a popular tourist destination on the way up north towards the Canadian Border. There are plenty of great recreational activities for both locals and visitors, including kayaking, biking, craft-brew tasting, art galleries and more!

If you like the color green, then spots like the Arboretum and Whatcom Falls are perfect for you. Expect the heavy college vibes in Bellingham to show in certain areas (such as just north of WWU's campus). The people in Bellingham are often easy to get along with, and there are plenty of ways to meet people throughout the downtown area.
