Welcome to the Society of American Archivists Student Chapter at Western Washington Univeristy!
SAA@WWU is a student run organization for those who are interested in archival studies, developing their knowledge and skills to assume a professional archives position in cultural, archival and academic settings. The organization provides group meetings, guest speakers, annual conference, and field trips pertaining to archives, special collections, and museums.
Our student chapter hopes to:
- Serve as a means of introducing new archivists into the profession.
- Enhance the educational function by providing an additional focus for the students to discuss archival issues, identify with the profession, and engage in professional activities.
- Promote communication among student members and with other members of the Society.
- Develop the leaders of tomorrow's archival profession.
- Attract new members into SAA.
